If you've ever tried to buy a decent collar for a little dog, you already know the problem. Walk into any pet shop or scroll any big online store and the small sizes are an afterthought — thin nylon that frays within weeks, fades in the sun, and holds onto that damp-dog smell no matter how often you wash it. Quality gear in a genuinely tiny size is surprisingly hard to find.

That never sat right with us. A Chihuahua, a toy poodle, an Italian greyhound or a brand-new puppy deserves a collar that's just as nicely made as the one on a working dog — only smaller, lighter and a bit more adorable. So we made one.

Why little dogs need better than cheap nylon

Small dogs live just as much life as big ones. They still get rained on, still find the muddiest spot in the yard, and still need a collar that holds an ID tag securely. The difference is that the cheap nylon collars made for them simply aren't built to cope.

Our puppy range is made from the same PVC-coated webbing as our full-size collars — just scaled down to a dainty 10mm width. That means:

  • 100% waterproof — the webbing absorbs nothing, so there's no soggy, smelly collar after a wet walk or a swim.
  • Non-porous and odour-free — bacteria has nowhere to live, so it stays fresh between cleans.
  • Riveted, not stitched — hand-punched and riveted by us, so it won't fray or unravel the way nylon does.
  • Wipe-clean easy — a quick rinse under the tap and it's good as new.
  • Soft and gentle — smooth edges that won't rub or chafe a delicate little neck.

And don't let the size fool you. The 10mm puppy collar is tested to a 140kg break strength, and the matching lead to 240kg — far beyond anything a small dog will ever put through it. Tiny, but no toy.

What size dog does the puppy collar fit?

It fits necks from 13cm to 22cm — ideal for toy and miniature adult breeds, and for puppies before they grow into a larger size.

My puppy is growing fast — is this worth buying?

Yes, for the early weeks. Once your pup outgrows 22cm they'll move up to our XS or Small adult collar. The 10mm size stays the permanent fit for genuinely small adult breeds.

Is a 10mm collar strong enough for a small dog?

Comfortably. The collar is tested to a 140kg break strength and the lead to 240kg — far beyond what any small dog could ever generate.

Can it get wet?

Absolutely. The webbing is fully waterproof and non-porous, so it won't absorb water or hold odours. Rinse it under the tap and it's clean.
