Handmade Dog Collars Australia — Built to Last, Not to Replace

Every collar we make is cut, measured, punched and riveted by hand in Orange, NSW. No factory. No shortcuts. Just proper gear built for real Australian dogs.

There are a lot of dog collars out there. Most of them are made in bulk, stitched together somewhere overseas, and designed to a price point rather than a standard. They do the job — until they don't. Until the stitching frays, the webbing soaks up six months of beach swims and starts to smell, or the hardware gives out on a big dog mid-walk.

We built Jacaranda Collars because we knew there was a better way. Tougher material. Better construction. Honest pricing. And made right here in Australia by people who genuinely care about the dogs wearing them.

"Some of our very first customers bought their collars two years ago. They're only just starting to see normal wear and tear. That's the standard we build to."

How we make them — every single one

Every Jacaranda collar starts as raw PVC webbing and quality metal hardware. From there it's all done by hand — measured precisely, cut, holes punched individually, and finished with rivets. Not stitching. Rivets.

  • Cut by hand — every collar measured and cut individually, not batch stamped
  • Holes punched precisely — clean, accurate, no fraying edges
  • Riveted construction — stronger than stitching, won't unravel under pressure
  • Solid metal hardware — quality D-rings and buckles built for big dogs and hard use
  • Quality checked before it leaves — because we made it, we stand behind it
  • Zero returns due to faults — not one, since we started

Why PVC and not nylon, fabric or leather

The material matters more than most people realise. We chose PVC webbing because nothing else performs the way it does for Australian conditions — and we've never looked back.

❌ Nylon & fabric collars

  • Absorbs water and takes days to dry
  • Soaks up bacteria, sweat and odour
  • Frays, fades and degrades in UV and salt air
  • Needs replacing every 3 months with active dogs
  • Stitched construction can unravel under stress

✔ Jacaranda PVC collars

  • 100% waterproof — doesn't absorb a drop
  • Non-porous — bacteria and odours can't penetrate
  • UV and salt-air resistant — colours stay vibrant
  • Customers still on their first collar after 2 years
  • Riveted construction — stronger, longer lasting

What about cheaper collars?

A nylon collar on an active Aussie dog typically needs replacing every 3 months — wear, damage, or that unmistakable smell that won't wash out. That's four collars a year. Our customers are still on their first Jacaranda collar after two years of hard use.

Even if our collars cost a little more upfront, the maths is simple. Better gear, less often. That's not an expense — that's an investment in your dog.

Handmade in Orange, NSW

We started Jacaranda Collars in 2024 — literally making the first collars on the floor of a garage in Orange, NSW. Every collar since has been made by the same hands, to the same standard, with the same obsession over materials and construction.

We still do the local markets because we love meeting our customers face to face — watching them pick up a collar, feel the quality, and understand immediately why it's different. That connection matters to us. These collars go on dogs we genuinely care about.
